What are the precautions for charging a 5-ton electric forklift?

Release time:

Forklift refers to the handling vehicle for short distance transportation, loading and unloading and stacking pallet goods. The structural characteristics and working performance of forklifts are represented by technical parameters such as gantry inclination and rated lifting capacity. They are generally divided into 5-ton electric forklifts, internal combustion forklifts, etc. When charging the battery of a 5-ton electric forklift, the user will perform various non-standard operations.

Combined with years of forklift maintenance experience, we will talk about the charging standard operation of the 5-ton electric forklift.

1. Check before charging

Check whether the battery and wiring are intact, and open the air cap. The liquid filler plug on the battery cannot be opened or pulled out. Do not add liquid before and during charging. Smoking, sparks and open flames are prohibited near the battery. Do not repair the battery during charging. Do not discharge the battery while charging. The temperature of the electrolyte during charging should be below 55°C. Do not place metal tools on the battery while charging.

2. During the charging process, the electrolyte temperature shall not exceed 55 ℃, otherwise emergency measures such as reducing the charging current, suspending charging or artificial cooling shall be taken.

3. If it is a new battery, cool the electrolyte at a specific gravity of 1.26 to 30°C, and then inject it into the battery. The injection volume is 10-20mm higher than the protective plate. Then wait quietly for 6 hours, until the liquid temperature drops below 35 degrees Celsius to start charging.

4. When the single battery voltage drops to 1.7V, the voltmeter voltage is 41V (driving load), and the electrolytic specific gravity drops to 1.18, it should be charged in time.

5. When the battery is charged to saturation, the voltage and the specific gravity of the electrolyte will not rise within 2 to 3 hours, and a large number of bubbles will appear. The specific gravity of the electrolyte will reach 1.26 and the battery voltage will reach 2.4V.

6. At the end of battery charging, use distilled water or dilute sulfuric acid with a specific gravity of 1.4 to adjust the specific gravity of the electrolyte to 1.26 and maintain a sufficient height. The specific gravity of the electrolyte should be recorded at the beginning and end of the battery charge.

7. The battery shall not be close to sparks, open flames and heat sources. After charging, put the fuel filler cap on the back cover, wipe the overflow electrolyte, and apply some petroleum jelly to keep the joint clean and dry. Battery flushing is only possible when the battery is lifted off the vehicle.

The battery charging environment requires good ventilation around the battery. The temperature of the ventilation equipment in the battery charging room shall not be higher than 40 ℃ to avoid the explosion caused by the mixed gas when the battery is charging, and to ensure the air flow in the charging room.

How to reverse and turn a 5 ton electric forklift?

When operating a 5-ton electric forklift to reverse, first observe the situation behind the truck and select the reversing target. If you are a novice to a 5-ton electric forklift or a driver who has just bought a new 5-ton electric forklift, you can get out of the car and observe the surrounding environment. After reversing and starting, be sure to control the speed and correct the direction at any time. When reversing in a straight line, keep the rear wheels straight and reduce the number of wheels when correcting. When reversing on a curve, be sure to pay attention to the rear environment. When reversing and turning, the movement of the entire vehicle should be considered, as well as whether the rear inner wheels and fenders will drive off the road or collide with obstacles. If there is an inevitable obstacle or pile position behind, the inner front wheel should be as close to the pile position or obstacle as possible. This is to correct the direction in time and avoid obstacles.

How to turn when driving a 5-ton electric forklift. When making a U-turn, you must choose a flat and spacious site, and do not make a U-turn on a ramp or a place with complicated road conditions. First, just like reversing, you have to reduce the speed, then let the forklift close to one side of the road, quickly turn the steering wheel to the other side, and then quickly turn the steering wheel when the front wheels are close to the road. If the road is narrow, you need to repeat the above operation several times, and the driver should not touch the sideline when turning.
